December is just around the corner, the Christmas lights are up in Ennis and people are looking forward to some festive spirit in Ennis. With the level 5 lockdown coming to an end in Ireland, let’s look forward and think about what we can do for the month of December. Here are 4 things to do on the roll up to Christmas:
-
Escape Rooms Ennis
The always creative Sarah and Connor from Escape Rooms Ennis didn’t sit back during lockdown. They put on their thinking caps and created a brand new escape room, SECRET AGENT ELF!!! This new Christmas escape room is fun, quirky and a highly recommended family activity over the festive season. Check out their website here!
-
Fiddle + Bow Yard
Growing up beside a pub called the ‘One Mile Inn’ which closed down when I was just 11 years old, I can fully understand the excitement around the arrival of the Fiddle + Bow yard which is now located beside the pub. This well organised experience offers a wide variety of locally sourced products from Anam coffee in the Burren, local artisan doughnuts and Russell’s fish & chips from Doolin. Cozy up by their open fire with a hot chocolate as you arrange a socially distant coffee date with a friend.
-
Ennis Scavenger Hunt
Families all around Ennis have been discovering Ennis in a safe and fun way over lockdown. Using teamwork skills, families must solve riddles and find clues in order to decrypt our code. To learn more about the Ennis Scavenger Hunt, click here!

Support a local business
2020 has brought innovation, that is for sure. Businesses have had to adapt in order to survive this year. I encourage everybody to, if at all possible, to try something new this Christmas. From the Rowan Tree’s tasty take away menu (now doing delivery), to Cruises outdoor dining area (open once level 5 ends). The independent boutiques in the town centre offer amazing products & services and most are still operating via click & collect. The streets have also been pedestrianised in order to allow for proper social distancing too!
