Galway is a beautiful city on the west coast of Ireland. It’s famous for its festivals, food, and culture. There is something for everyone to enjoy in Galway City.  For this reason, people like to base themselves in Galway when planning their trips to Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher, and the Aran Islands!

How is the Doolin from the Cliffs of Moher?

Doolin is just a 10-minute drive from the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center.

Here is how to get to Doolin & the Cliffs of Moher from Galway:

  1. Take the Bus from Galway to Doolin / Cliffs of Moher

    Route 350 from Galway to Doolin leaves daily at 8 am and reaches Doolin shortly before 10 am. The journey is about 2 hours long each way and will cost you €10 each way.

    If you don’t want to hike and prefer to go straight to the visitor center, just stay on the bus for an extra stop and the Route 350 bus will bring you straight there!

  2. Drive your own car from Galway City to Doolin / Cliffs of Moher

    If you have your own car, you can save a lot of time on your trip. The journey from Galway City to Doolin is roughly 1 hour 30 minutes. The route itself is very scenic and takes you through the village of Kinvara. Once you have reached Doolin, you could either hike to the Cliffs of Moher or drive 10 minutes extra to the Cliffs of Moher visitor center.

  3. Taxi from Galway City to the Doolin / Cliffs of Moher

    A taxi is a nice option for those who do not have their own car but still want the time flexibility on their trip. A taxi could cost approx €120 – €130 each way.
