You may have heard rumors that the Cliffs of Moher are closed for 2025. Let’s clear that up right away—they are absolutely NOT closed, and our Cliffs of Moher Hiking Tour (also known as the Doolin Cliff Walk) is still running as usual!
What’s Actually Happening at the Cliffs of Moher in 2025?
There are two separate closures, but neither affects the experience of hiking the Cliffs with us:
✅ The Cliffs of Moher visitor center is fully open, along with all its facilities.
✅ A small 500m section of the Doolin Cliff Walk is temporarily closed, but this does NOT affect our tour—we’ve adjusted the pickup location slightly, and the hike is just 7km instead of 8km.
✅ The southern section of the Cliffs of Moher coastal trail (beyond the visitor center) is closed for 2025. However, this has never been part of our tour route, so our hike remains completely unaffected.
What Are the Best Ways to Experience the Cliffs of Moher in 2025?
There are two main ways to see the Cliffs:
- The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Center – The most common option, where you can take in the famous views, explore exhibitions, grab a coffee, and visit O’Brien’s Tower.
- The Cliffs of Moher Hike – The best way to truly experience the Cliffs! Our guided hike from Doolin takes you along a breathtaking coastal trail with hidden viewpoints that less than 3% of visitors ever see. (Book here)
What Time of Day Should You Visit?
The Cliffs of Moher are stunning at any time of day (No, I am deadly serious), but if you want to avoid peak crowds, consider visiting in the morning or later in the afternoon.
☀️ During summer, Ireland has late sunsets (often past 10 PM!), meaning you can enjoy incredible golden-hour views well into the evening. Our guided hike is ideal at any time, with different lighting making the Cliffs look spectacular throughout the day.
