Hike in the heart of the Burren
The word “Burren” comes from the Irish word “Boíreann” meaning a rocky place. The Burren National Park is approximately 1500 hectares in size. The Burren is home to a variety of terrains from Limestone Pavement, Grassland, Woodland, Lakes, Springs, and Cliffs.
The Lough Avalla Farm Loop is a 6km hike located in the heart of the Burren in Co. Clare. On this hike, you will walk on paths formed thousands of years ago. You will visit thousand-year-old ancient saunas and holy wells. The breathtaking views make for some of the most spectacular views on the whole island of Ireland.
After the hike, local Farmer, Harry will meet the group for some tea and coffee.
Please note that the tea, coffee, and home-baked treats are complimentary but it is advised that people leave a small donation if desired. This is completely optional but it’s nice to have some cash on hand if you wish to leave a donation.
